have been systematically going through the various factors as i try to determine the cause of sapphie's rash... have so far ruled out, food, change in diet, possible fungus / pathogens on cloth that i used to clean her, and grass. i am already kinda my wits end as to what other possible factors to test. she is in a very bad state now and her body has come to the point where her fur is now probably 30% of what she used to have. when i bathed her this morning, i did not need to dry her to the extent of what i did the last time. in fact, due to her lack of fur now, her body dried up very fast! i supposed this is a positive point of having a near naked dog now... hahaha... ya, i need all my positive thinking power at this point to keep myself sane.
ok, anyway, with the recommendation of a kind blog reader (not too sure who he/ she is), i contacted animal recovery center (arc) this morning. had initially intended to bring sapphie there this morning. but it turned out the vet is on mc today. nonetheless, i proceeded to make an appointment for tomorrow. in addition, the nurse (i supposed) asked me for some further details. and after going through all the admin details as well as all the medical history and what i had done, he proceeded to ask me for details that could possibly cause the rash... and he went "food? change in diet? any treats? and strong detergents used on the floor?... and so on"... it was a no, no, no, no, and my mind went "oh... i did use rather strong washing powder and chlorox on my rugs... "... and come to think of it, sapphie has been sleeping on the rugs nightly. click!
hmmm... anyway, i made the appointment for tomorrow and quickly went on to wash all my rugs. this time, with totally no detergent, chlorox or any chemicals... need to get rid of any residues of chemical from previous washes! let's hope this is the causal factor that escaped me all these while!
:-)
