mum got hospitalized again today. this time round, she was found to have high level of blood infection and suspected dilation of her intestines.
what happened was that since her release from the hospital 2 weeks ago, she had not moved her bowels. and despite trying all sorts of things such as taking prune juice, eating more vegetables, drinking more water, taking laxatives, etc, she just simply refused to clear her bowels! and as the days pass, i noted she started to show signs of complications arising from constipation. she started feeling weak, she started to vomit, and so on.
i got worried yesterday when she told me vomited again and she felt weezy. in addition, she complained that her tongue tasted bitter. my only conclusion was that she had blood toxification and i suggested to my brother to quickly bring her to the hospital. he said he would simply try to buy her suppositories and everything will be ok. i was worried. and this morning, i adviced him to do so again explaining to him that things would be bad if he did not do so. he agreed to do so later in the day after getting the suppository for her in the morning. what happened was after using the suppository, she actually cleared lots of bowels! two weeks worth! but after that, she started feeling feverish and through the whole day, her fever just kept going up. her temperature shot up to 40 degree at one time. her body got so weak she couldn't get out of bed. and to make things worst, she started trembling and complained that she felt very cold.
the domestic panicked and called me in office at about 3plus. i gave her some advise as to how to manage mum. separately, i asked her to quickly ask my brother to sent her to the hospital. the ambulance came, and she eventually arrived at the hospital at about 4plus in the evening. some x-rays and blood tests eventually concluded that her blood had been badly infected and that her intestines showed signs of dilation. she eventually got to the ward by about 9plus. whew... luckily, she managed to get to the hospital on time. or else, things would have been unthinkable.
