bicentennial tree

the bicentennial tree is one of the few trees where watchers would climb up to look out for forest fires in southern australia. the azimuth of the fire sighted from the tree would be used to triangulate with the readings of that sighted at other trees (such as gloucester tree, diamond tree) so that the exact location of the forest fire could be pinpointed and where fire fighters could be despatched.
