just did dental scaling for sapphie. am fortunate to have sapphie let me do the scaling without too much of a fuss. she lies on my lap and allows me to use a scissors to scrap her tartar off her teeth. and at the age of 10 (she'll be 10 this nov), i must say she still has a set of relatively healthy teeth (except for her upper jaw molars that seemed a little too calcified with tartar to be able to be scrapped off). well, at least compared to many other dogs i see that start to lose their teeth as early as when they are 5 yrs old!
