finally, i took half a days' leave to select the marble for my dining table & chairs! it was an interesting experience. went to the shop. saw a whole lot of beautifully assembled but unlacquered wooden furniture - tables, chairs, 2-seaters, 3-seaters, etc. they were all stacked on top of each other.
and there was a whole stack of marble tops all wrapped up in plastic sheets. the shop keeper selected one for me. told me to take a look. i told him it was my first time selecting and he gave me an instant lesson as to what to look for - smooth surface, no cracks, no kinks, and so on. the same process was repeated for every piece of marble for the stool-top. it was a very straight forward process. and within half an hour, i was done!
i look forward to the mid-dec delivery of the tables and chairs!
