at the kuala lumpur lcct yesterday, this incident kinda top off the lcct experience for me...
after the immigration, there was a queue for bag x-ray screening. there was a pre-board team of 5-6 security personnel managing the screening process. somehow the pre-board team seemed rather disorganised and often the staff did not focus too much on the screening process and had the habit to chit chat. and during one of the chats, the screening got disrupted. a lady placed her bag on the x-ray machine and proceeded to walk through the wtmd (walk-through metal detector). apparently the bag was not placed properly and did not move into the x-ray machine. and the queue stalled.
some 1-2 minutes later, the pre-board team realized something was wrong and a lady wearing tudung on the other side of the x-ray shouted out to us... eh eh... kenapa tak mahu jalan? eh eh! jalan la... (eh eh, why don't want to move? eh eh, move la)... of cos, we couldn't cos the bag didn't move and no one wanted to take the initiative to move it. i supposed everybody assumed there was an issue with the screening process and we all had to wait (it was the airport after all right?).
noting that nothing happened after she screamed at us, she grumpily walked through the wtmd (walk-through metal detector) towards us and that was when she saw the bag. looking unhappy, she went eh eh... ni beg siapa la? beg letak sini, mesti tak boleh jalan la! tsk tsk tsk... eh eh! ni beg siapa ha? mahu tunggu siapa? krismas karrrrrrr? ya allah... hari raya belum sampai, orang sudah mahu tunngu krismas! (eh eh, whose bag is this? with the bag left here, of course, it won't move! ... waiting for what? christmas is it? omg... hari raya has not even arrive and people are already waiting for christmas...) the owner of the bag had apparently been cleared ran out again and pushed the bag into the x-ray machine.
it was only then that the queue started moving again. and the tudung lady continue joking about the bag waiting for christmas with the rest of the team. i was dumbfounded for that moment. if it were to happen at changi airport, the security officer would have been sacked straight away!
