been busy conducting a 2 day course that starts today. kinda weird feeling cos this is the last course that i will be conducting for the company and despite the fact that the class did not meet the minimum class size, my co-ordinating team made special provisions for this course to proceed. they know i enjoy conducting such courses as it energizes me and gives me the opportunity to connect with people from across the company. and during the course, i also sensed a small extend where course participants felt the need to be part of this course. and during the tea breaks, they came up to me and share some of their thoughts about how the company will be losing a significant member come next week. one of them also expressed that quite a number of his peers have not gotten over the fact that i will be leaving them.
well, sharing this with no intentions to boast, but rather, capturing a moment in my final days with my company and some of the thoughts and words that was expressed. the issue with long tender periods (in my case, 2 months) invariably mean having extended goodbyes and expressions of a sense of lose. been so for the last few weeks. colleagues whom i do not know come up to me to wish me well, to have meals with me, to ask me for advice... been a good few weeks although it can be a little overwhelming in terms of the number of people coming up to me. but of cos, i am more than happy to help and share.
one more week to go.
