well, it was easier than i thought. was called up by my big boss expectedly after i tendered yesterday. he asked me a few questions and the conversation ended. chop chop.
you have contributed quite a bit to the company and i thank you for it. have you found a job or you have made other plans? how long more can we hold you as we look for a replacement? i respect your decision. how many days leave do you have? do complete what you need to complete and we will pay you for your unconsumed leave. have you told your staff? we will leave you to manage your staff. i hope you leave amicably.
that was it. short and sharp. and throughout the conversation, he did not look me once in my eyes. left, right, up, down... all directions except into my eyes. so much for sincerity. and the last sentence about "amicably"... hmmm... sounded like he felt a little guilty about the whole thing...

ReplyDeletenever know chicken got balls... heh heh... but ya, it was easy. didn't expect him to want to keep me in the first place. in some ways, i am like that too. if my staff comes to me and says he/ she wants to quit, i will give him/ her my blessings. no point keeping people when the heart is already not there.
