my mum suffers from paranoia and delusion. she constantly believes people are out to kill her and are highly suspicious of people around her, especially people outside the family (regardless of how long she had known them). and since moving to my place, she believes bee and his mum are out to take over my property and that they are out to kill her cos she is in their way of achieving what they want. and she also believes that i have already been placed under a spell and brainwashed by bee's mum's magic potion.
and there is no way you can convince her of anything different once she decided that what she believe in is the truth. for example, last friday evening i did not bring her out for dinner (i was tasked to organize a company dinner) and on saturday, i did not bring her out for lunch (i met up with my old nsf friend). and by the time sunday comes, when i told her i would be heading out to get the info out of my old laptop that had gone kapoot, she went totally bonkers... when i eventually told her i will not go out given her insecurities, she got angry with me and went on a hunger strike (or well, she would not go out for meals with me). i learned from my sis earlier that my mum believed for the past few days, i had continuously gone to bee's house to plan how to kill her and to get rid of her. no amount of explanation can convince her otherwise. if there is one thing i have learned over the last year of managing her, it is this - to maintain my sanity, i must ignore her illogical thoughts and just carry on life as per normal... and that was what i did today.
