good interview

for a start, i wouldn't call it an interview. rather, it was more of a chit chat session with the headhunter company. the appointment was at 3pm and the weather was so damned bloody warm i was literally wet with perspiration! and so i decided against wearing a tie. decided that i would go with my business wear - simply my long sleeve shirt, and pants... well, ok, ok, it was that kind of slim-cut long sleeve shirt with a stylo-mylo collar complete with cuff-links. convinced myself that i would instead be exuding confidence by walking in without a tie. screw all the recommendations to wear formally when meeting a headhunter. damned, the weather was just too warm! well...

i arrived. click on the door buzzer, and the secretary opened the door... she looked surprised (macam the kinda "who the hell is this person who comes without a tie" kinda look... ok, don't ask me how she looked like...) and ushered me to an interview room. hmmm... it came with lounge chairs. not the kinda office chairs... hmmm, not good. not good at all. with my slim-cut shirt, sitting in such chairs would mean my buttons will stretch and my tummy will be exposed! eeks... no, cannot do! i need to suck in my stomach! hahaha... better not sit so quickly. and so, i stood in the air-con room and waited for about 10min before the lady walked in. i supposed she was surprised by my lack of tie but well, the whole conversation started off very well and smooth and before long, we were literally chatting quite heartily about the opportunity. it was a good hour-long chat. no stress. and when it ended, she told me to wait for a response to see if the company will be keen to pursue with a formal interview. and i could see she was very keen to push me through.

heh heh... i thought it went pretty well. but as i said, i went without expectations. this interview came from out of the blue. if it happens, it happens. if it doesn't, well, i am not gonna be terribly upset by it. life goes on!

:-)

ps: it was so coincidental that the incumbent of the position in discussion actually interviewed me 2 years ago... if i had been successful then, i would be a staff in his set-up now and probably will not be looking at taking over him instead! what an interesting twist of events! wa! then again, i am talking like as though i have been cleared for the job... chey! haha!
