it is so nice to be able to get together once a while. when my dad was alive, i would invite all his siblings (my aunts and uncles) and their families to my house during the second day of the chinese new year. those gatherings have since stopped since my dad passed away two years ago.
today, my aunt organised a little dinner for all at a coffee shop and i was invited. there were almost 20 of us. and it was such a happy occasion. and i found out that my extended family has had 2 new additions to the family. my nephew has a daughter now. and that means my aunt is now a great grandmother! my cousin is now a grandmother, and yes, all of us in my generation have been elevated to the "grand-" generation! and of course, my title is now 表舅公. hmmm, sounds damned bloody old to me! also, i found out that another of my cousin (the one who got married last year) is now a proud father of a baby boy. that means we now have 2 boys to carry on my surname! it also means i am now officially a 堂伯. heh heh... it's so nice to meet up once a while!

Oh...the baby is an uncle at birth. Tot tis seldom happens nowadays.
