have been reading and following some online forums over the past years and very often, i read people making very uncalled for comments about others. and very very often, these comments are very critical about people's looks and other physical attributes. rather disheartening to read them i must say. and i thought it was very ironic. for we, gay people, are often the subjects of criticisms and judgments by the larger public. yet, we ourselves are some judgmental of our own kind. well, it is one thing to have preference, but to judge people by their physical attributes and make negative remarks about them is totally uncalled for. not a very nice thing to do.
anyway, i posted this remark in my facebook - "why do people judge others if they themselves do not want people to judge them? - are you guilty of this? for me, i admit, i do at times and i am not proud of it. i need to improve on this." and i got very good answers from some friends. jason shared that "it is common to be judgmental; esp that we are humans. whats important is that we do not let this feeling overuled logic and sense." i couldn't agree more. but of course, it would really do the world a lot of good if we could just live and let live. if being judgmental is human, the least we can do is to keep our thoughts to ourselves and not make it explicit and harm others.
right?
