this week, i visited the temple to get tickets for an upcoming event. and along the way, i also asked the staff if they knew where i could get a burmese buddha figurine. the answer came fast - go burma... hmmm, ya right! and another said - oh, shi fu always go burma, so you can ask her to buy for you... and before i can even respond, another staff said, but i guess when you buy a buddha figurine, you would want to see it first rite? it must be something you can identify with...
yes, right, right, right and right. in the end, they could only suggest i pay a visit to the burmese temple in balestier. even then, they are not sure if i can get one from there. well, need to thank them for being so enthusiastic with their responses. i guess i will have to continue looking. and this just came to my mind as i type this entry - that perhaps, the difficulty of the whole process itself is a way to test my resolve to finding it and indirectly a test of my own faith...
