after my recent application to be a volunteer teacher at the temple, i finally had the chance to meet up the venerable for an interview. and it was certainly a very interesting interview.
as i said, with nothing to expect and nothing to gain except to volunteer my services in anyway the temple deemed fit, there was no stress. and my answers to the venerable's questions were quick, candid and sometimes against her expectations... and at times, i thought she was kinda shock by my answers eg, when she asked me what was it i learned about myself the most after knowing more about buddhism, i told her i learned that i was really stupid. she was kinda dumbfounded, but after a split second, she laughed, and of course, i went on to elaborate my answers. overall, she took my answers well... and i thought it was a very fun interview. it was more like a chat with a friend. the interview ended with the venerable asking me if could start teaching from mid-june onwards. i readily agreed. so... heh heh... looks like i will be very busy in the coming months!
