during a casual chat with a colleague last week, the topic of age catching up with us came up. and when i told her i am 50, she said "hush! you are not even 49..." heh. i could understand her reaction cos she's a year older than me and refused to acknowledge her age. as for me, when i told her i was not bothered, and for that matter, had been telling people i am 50 since last year... she gave me that "you-must-be-crazy look". i explained that technically, using the lunar calendar, i was 49 last year and as chinese are pantang (superstitious) about -9s, i just round it up! hahha. she hissed at my response...
well, look here, fact that i have accepted and embrace the big 5, turning 50 is actually a non-event for me. for that matter, age has never been an issue with me. to me, i just enjoy my age, whatever year it might be. we only live once. age is a number. at times, we may grief over the lost of youth, on from another perspective, we should celebrate experience and wisdom!
agree?
(and no, this is not a self consolidation reflection...)
