"laid to rest"

well, figuratively that is. these days, with most people opting for cremation instead of burial, we now no longer can say a person had been "laid to rest"... anyway, i have digressed even before i started my post.

my uncle's funeral happened this morning and he was finally cremated. his ashes had been placed at the crematorium as of this evening. was a simple process given that it was a christian funeral. but it was no less emotional. many of our eyes were red during the ceremony. and as for me, i teared somewhat but as i drove to the crematorium, i cried. felt good to just let the tears out. and as i cried, there was this very short moment where i couldn't really pinpoint the real reasons why i cried. that was when everything got mixed altogether... work, stress, pent up, relationship, loss, etc.

had certainly been a very long, draining and tiring week. it started with my boss returning from his leave followed by news of my uncle's passing. and frankly, with my boss' return, the mood in office sank really really low. all smiles disappeared and everyone started to speak in whispers and stress-levels spike again. as for my uncle's passing, i attended the wake nightly after mum went to bed and had slept at 1-ish for the whole week, yet waking up as per normal for work. thus, as of now, i am totally dead beat, but i cannot rest. i have to rush through writing a paper and give the first draft to my boss by monday. will need to work through the weekend.

challenging times ahead.

push on!
