my growing up and maturing journey has been most humbling. there were a few key lessons learned and they include...
- do not judge too fast. or for that matter, do not judge at all.
- everyone has their story.
- listen.
- be objective, not emotional.
- slow down, live in the present.
- be appreciative.
- don't compare.
- be humble.
- accept that there are things i do not know.
- be compassionate.
- respect others.
- give others the benefit of doubt (which is related to the first point).
- ...
and so with age, it is not that i am not idealistic anymore, but i have learnt that my ideals is just what it is - mine. i need to accept that there are other ways of framing things and that there are logic that i do not know, or may never know. anyway... just thought i'd write what comes to mind cos i have been receiving quite a bit of emails lately from young friends with tensions...
do not compare. i always remind myself about this, but i always can't make it. fail completely!!! on the other hand, this attitude make me work harder...
ReplyDeleteI realize that when I compare, greed is the cause of it...
