weather talk

i never like weather talk. it's superficial and to me, very stressful...

earlier this week as i was heading to office, i chanced upon a colleague at the lift landing. he worked on the upper floor and other than knowing each other's existence, we have never spoken to each other. and so i thought i'd be nice and greeted him. he acknowledged similarly and there was a momentary silence. before i could start a conversation, he said "oh, the weather these days are very hot." wow! what a statement! how would he expect me to respond to such a statement! and so i went "yup, very hot indeed." and then there was a momentary silence again. and as i was just about to feel awkward again, he continued "last week, the weather very wet. lots of thunderstorm." once again, i was like wtf, here he goes again!. anyway, i answered "yup, very wet indeed". and this time round, he did not pause, and he continued "and today, very warm"...

wtf! i was so thankful i reached my floor by then.
