supportive bosses

i am rather blessed to have very understanding bosses at work. 

when they heard that my mum got hospitalized, i was asked to down my tools and to attend to her. place office priorities lower, family is more important. one after another echoed. it was such a contrasting difference from my previous company where i was hauled up to my chief ops officer's office and given a good trashing. you better sort out your mum. she's a problem and it is not fair for me to squeeze other business units head and not squeeze you! thundered my chief ops officer. well, that one sentence convinced me i should leave that company. and i am pretty glad i did.

following her discharge, mum decided that she should attend the rehabilitation center right away and not rest at home for a week or two as suggested by the rehabilitation center manager. mum reckoned she would be bored stiff if she were to stay home. and that was what i did. i called up the center and asked for the transport to pick her up today. and my bosses also gave me the go ahead to arrive work late and to leave early if need be so as to make sure she boards the transport/ return home safely. and i can do so for as long as i need until she gets strong again.

such a nice change. am glad i have such supportive bosses.
