disrespectful person

i seldom confront people. but when i see behaviors that are unacceptable, i will do so, especially when it involves a young person who was disrespectful. and that was exactly what i did today.

you see, i was wheeling my mum along the cold storage (a local supermarket chain) food aisle when i came the junction where two aisles meet. and it so happened that at that moment, an auntie was there and she came face-to-face with a young girl. before going on, let me describe this girl. she looked probably 20 years of age. seemed well-educated. dressed like she had just returned from school. for on her right hand, she had an iphone and some files. and on her left hand, a grocery basket. overall, she looked like a typical uni-student, bright, young and perhaps come from a well-to-do family.

ok, back to the incident. the girl and the auntie were in each other's way and the first thing the girl did was to make that "tserk" sound, and gave the auntie a wtf flustered look, like as though the auntie had offended her big time. as for the auntie, she tried to make space for the girl by taking a step to the left and it so happened that the girl took a step to the right. so... again, the girl gave that auntie an evil wtf look. the auntie decided to move backwards and gave way to the girl. the girl look one helluva unhappy, made an immediate left turn. she did not even thanked the auntie for making way for her! and guessed what? when she did that, she came to face me.

and she gave me that wtf look too! i was annoyed by her behavior! but i kept quiet, she must have had a bad day, i thought. and as she walked passed me, she turned and stared at me. and once again gave me the wtf look. that did it for me. don't mess with me this way. i did not do anything to warrant such stares from you! and i did not hesitate to ask her, very firmly, "is there a problem?" she must have been taken aback by my question. her wtf face immediately disappeared and she quickly replied "oh, no, no..." and with that, she quickly walked off.

what a rude girl. regardless of how well-to-do, well-educated you are, you are doomed to failure character-wise if you cannot behave yourself and conduct yourself well.

i feel sad for her.
