geylang foreign talents

went to geylang today to buy joss papers. and after that stopped by for dinner at the famous lor 29 hokkien prawn mee stall with bee bee. we noticed that sitted with the many uncles around us were thickly made-up sweet-looking little things (well, i did not use the word young for most are not that young... a few looked easily 40plus!). and all of them are from mainland china (confirmed from their chinese-accented words).

after dinner, we drove through the infamous areas and were amazed by what we saw. one thing for sure - the crowd was still as rowdy, if not, rowdier. but surprised us was the fact that most of the men that comprised the crowd were south asians and mainland chinese. looking at their shabby clothes, i could only conclude that these were foreign workers (labourers and construction workers i guess). and walking alongside these foreign workers were - mainland chinese `chickens'...

sighs... talking about foreign talent...

and it's kinda ironic... coming to singapore to earn money by sleeping with your fellow-countrymen.

ps: the china chinese `chickens' have a really lousy sense of fashion. then again, it is perhaps the in-thing in the countries of their potential clients.
