took public transport to work today after dropping my car off at leng kee for servicing. it was an interesting experience. i decided to drop by the boon lay bus interchange sbs interchange canteen and managed to observe the hustle and bustle of singapore life as i munch away my bak chang. it was interesting to see perfect strangers chatting with each other, at times in languages that they do not understand, people of all walks and races mingling, and through this short interaction, made friends and acquaintances. it was a very simple affair, very unassuming. yet in it's simplicity, there's a certain richness that i sensed - a richness in the communication between people of different races, different culture and different religion. it's just very singaporean. and it made me realized how much i had taken my life for granted.
such is the simple life that people like me, who drives from point to point, fail to see and fail to appreciate. and more often than not, bitch about little discomforts... i will try to take public transport more often henceforth.
