sometimes, old people can really act beyond logic. and often it is a case of saving the cents and risking the dollars and life. such is a case for my dad.
you see, these days, i get worried whenever my dad goes out of the house. with the recent spate of falls and hypoglycaemia attacks, i can never ever sleep peacefully at night. and it is not uncommon to wake up to his howling and screams and at times, found him unconscious on the floor. such are the signs of hypoglycaemia. and taking the steps to revive him has become a drill to me. i have also noticed him walking with more difficulty these days and would often fall.
and yesterday, he went to the doctor in the morning at abt 9. he did not have his breakfast and neither did he bring along his mobile. when he did not return at about 6pm, my mum and i got worried. and i really hate the feeling of having to tell my mum not to worry for everything will be ok while i myself was panicking inside. at about 6.30pm, my home phone rang and i was relieved when i heard his voice and not some policeman. rushed to the traffic junction and walked him back.
apparently, on his way home after visiting the doctor, he had difficulty walking and as a result fell a few times... in the end, being unable to get up and walk further, he sat on road curb by the main road. and it started raining. it was until a kind lady came along and and brought him to the traffic junction outside my condo and allowing him to use her mobile to call home.
and when i suggested taking cabs in future instead of the bus and mrt, his reply was that cabs are expensive and will cos a few dollars more... haiz...
