this happened on the eve of my training trip when i was super busy assembling the training notes...
my boss called me to the meeting room and gave me my confirmation letter. was rather unexpected as my confirmation was not due till 1 oct. and he said he had recommended me for my confirmation ahead of my time given that i had exceeded all expectations and that i had delivered more than what they had asked for. he went on till tell me that he had recommended me for a promotion and to take over him within the next 6 months or when he leaves (whichever is earlier as he is a contracted staff)...
but here's the interesting part, the content of the confirmation letter read - congratulations la la la... there will be no change to your contract etc, but instead of a 1-month notice period, your notice period will now be 3 months!
sounds like a punishment?

Thanks Edwin! The company has been good to me thus far and allowed me much freeplay to build a system that I think is good for the company. I am appreciative of that.
