1 apr

today i start a new chapter in my professional life.

after almost 6 full months of deliberate unemployment (and i stress "deliberate" for people will naturally assume reasons such as i was sacked, i couldn't get a job, i was retrenched, etc), i walked into the office today feeling a little lost. and no, it was no april fool's joke. heh heh... anyway, it felt kinda weird to be walking to work (my office is 1.2km from my place) and for once, i wished the sun would rise later. it was so humid and warm and i was sweating like a pig by the time i arrived at my workplace and had to make a detour to spinelli for the air con. 

well, the day was pretty boring. it was a boring day that was filled with uncoordinated briefings by the on-boarding person and my boss. and by the end of the day, i was drained. drained for the fact that things were rather ad hoc, and the feeling of being overwhelmed when there seemed to be 1000+1 things that i have been told i need to do. but well, positively speaking, i have full flexibility to scope things and i have not legacy issues to tie me down to. and of course, i will be gainfully employed for a while to come... unless i decide to jump ship.

and yes, i have gotten lotsa smses from my friends wishing me well on my first working day. and these started trickling in since yesterday. it's kinda nice to know people have thought of you, although i must say, it is rather (i should say very) egoistic of me to feel so, and that is no good...
