mum complained of body aches on monday evening. and by tuesday morning, her condition deteriorated to the point where she couldn't really breath. she was wheezing terribly and highly confused. i had to activate an ambulance to evacuate her to the hospital.
she was warded on the spot. she was discharged on thursday night after two days of treatment with steroids and antibiotics. water overload, said the doctors. as the blood tests did not show any significant infection of her lungs, the doctors suspected it could be due to her weak heart. and she has since been scheduled for 3 appointments next week - for a review by the internal medicine consultant, a lung scan and a heart scan...
and as expected, the doctors increased her dosage of furosemide. sighs... that means, she will be constantly dehydrated again.
