watching this video reminds me once again why i love the southern lion so much more than the northern lion! the ferocity, the strength, the gentleness and the playful nature all rolled into one. and importantly brought to life by two very talented individuals inside. and as i watched, i invariably find myself forgetting that there were 2 human beings inside.
such is the magic i experience whenever i watch the southern lion dance. and it reminds of my junior college days where weekends were spend largely with my chinese orchestra friends or with my buddies from the lion dance troop. and it was during that period that i learned about lion dance and the symbolic meanings behind every little movements...
those were the good old days of learning about my own culture.

ps: then again, this creature, commonly referred to as the lion is actually a mythical creature. and it is interesting how we, as human beings, inject movements that, to me, are similar to that of our very best friend - the dog. lol!
