he approved a training for my staff last month despite his reservations. at that time he said if we send the staff for a course so quickly after she joined us, she'll probably run away once she finished the course. this despite me briefing on all the reasons why the position needs to be trained. but he eventually approved it after i told him we can reconsider downstream.
today, and after all the registration etc, he again voiced his reservations about sending her for the course. his rationale has changed. she is not conducting training and thus should not attend the course, he wrote in his email. of course i responded with an explanation on the rationale all over again but once again, indicated that i would be most willing to withdraw her from the course if necessary.
in return, he replied me with a mail full rebuttals, point by point, all in red fonts. i was taken aback by this very hostile email. and i was very uneasy with the fact that his rebuttals were all either part of my explanations to him (which he obviously didn't read) or with lots of very inconsistent reasons. but he ended the email with "i will let her go this time round, but...". i didn't bother to respond further. i simply thank him for his inputs.
feeling very frustrated with such bosses who continues to be inconsistent. or perhaps consistent in his disagreement to let the staff go for courses amidst all the inconsistent reasons. hard to work with such people...
