meaning of holiday... as a young person, anything goes for me when i go overseas. i went backpacking, i went trekking in the mountains of the golden triangle, slept in aborigine villages, ride elephants, built bamboo rafts and water-rafted down the mountain streams... that to me, was what holidays should be!!! as i grew older, i joined tour groups, still, i climbed mountains, visited deserts, drank and dined amongst israelites, visited black sea and went as far as visit a palestine/ israeli border... still it was dangerous excitement! wooooo!!! these days... well, much as the mind imagines myself to enjoy such things still, my perfect holiday would be to have a nice hotel room, sauna, gym, sceneries, food, cold weather (snow if possible), drink wine while admiring the skyful of stars in the comforts of the hotel room... and of course, rent a car and drive to wherever excites me... pampering myself has taken a higher priority these days...

Hah what brought on the sudden enlightenment on age and aging? Though it's rather interesting to see the perspective of someone older. Gosh, we must sound so childish in your mind.

when one is older, holidays means "vegetate", preferably no planning, no rushing from A to B, getting organised....or else it's work & someone else can doit when i'm holiday.

haha... i have not used the word "vegetate" for aeons! but yes, minimal everything, but maximum comfort...
