no, am not trying to act cute by spelling "unker" instead of "uncle". just thought i'd use a less usual term.
i noticed that lately i have been getting younger people posting comments. it's such a great refreshing change! and interestingly, as well as a little awkwardly, i find my blog appearing on their list of blogs they read too. and when i took a look... oooooo... i think i am one of the oldest blogger in their lists. in fact, no need to think, i AM (see! i hardly use bold capital letters in my blog and now i am doing it to emphasize it) the oldest... haha...
a typical profile of these new readers are (1) about half my age, (2) gay (3) malaysians (more than singaporeans) (4) mainly followers of 2-3 ardent bloggers!
and no, no, i am not complaining. in fact, i am more than pleased to be able to connect with them. i am thankful to them for allowing me the opportunity to look at the world through their lenses. lenses of a different generation and understanding things from a slightly different perspective. and of course, as a lao unker, i could possibly provide an older person perspective if need be (and certainly a few had been chatting with me via email since). then again, i don't think they need that la. or perhaps one or two who tend to be a little sad in their postings. but generally, i find the postings very lively. sometimes a bit of bitching here and there, but well, that is part of life right? it makes life all the more interesting.
it's certainly nice to be able to make friends and connect with young people!
:-)
ps: and of cos, i must mention here that i even had the great honour of hosting one of them to dinner and the singapore flyer! (after his short but "memorable" trip to the sauna)... haha... halo! u reading this? heh heh!
