i watched this show in taipei. it was a saturday night and i was bored and dead tired. i had not had a good rest since 48 hours ago as i had deliberately deprived myself of sleep the previous night. and despite being shagged out, i didn't want to sleep. it was near midnight but to me, i considered it early. i was on a holiday after all. and one don't sleep early while on holiday right? i toyed with the idea of waiting to come home and watch the show with bee. but decided that i should just go ahead. i was alone and i wanted to kill time. and i reminded myself i was there because i needed a break and i needed to find my own space, do what i want to do for myself - only myself. and i should stop thinking about others. just do it.
and it was with this state of self-centredness that i proceeded to purchase the ticket for the midnight show. the cinema was somewhat old, a little small and despite being the opening weekend, it was only 3/4 filled. in that state of mind, i couldn't really think and ended up totally confused when the story started. there were too many flashbacks/ references to previous shows, i thought. and it didn't help that i was distracted constantly by this taiwanese bitch beside me that kept checking her facebook and answering her wechat during the show. damned it, if you want to facebook or wechat, you shouldn't be in the cinema in the first place. her actions just made me even more pissed off that night. a tired man is an angry man? haha... instead of kicking a fuss, i decided to change my seat. and it was then that i started to follow the show.
and there were just too many superheroes! on one hand, i got pleasantly surprised when "hey! another superhero appears", yet on the other hand, i couldn't help but go "oh, wait!? one more? oh man... i am getting confused... again...". but well, once i got used to it, it was actually quite fun. and i found it rather interesting how politics was layered over the superheroes. it didn't seemed right, but it reminded me how the concept of power is neutral and how power is only meaningful if applied in an enlighten manner. ok, i am not sure if i made sense here. anyway, i think i am also tired now.
shan't blog further. didn't want this to become a movie review anyway.
:-)
