have been making the effort to clear things from my house these past few weeks.
and today, i cleared out most of mum's things from her bedroom. decided to dismantle the maid's bed too since she had moved out and at the same time, discarded mum's mattress protector, pillows, etc. the mattress protector was stained with her urine and when i lifted it up, there were piles of newspapers underneath. i had almost forgotten i had laid extra newspapers to prevent the urine from seeping onto the mattress itself. anyway, much as these are dirtied, they were used by my mum. and gross as it might sound, they meant something to me. they were the remnants of things that were used by mum... still, the objective part of me decided to just discard them all. the room looked terribly empty now.
lots more stuff to discard in the days ahead.
