cold war

my mum started waging a cold war on me since yesterday.

last evening, my sis brought dinner to the house when i went to collect my car. i returned home to a tense environment. later learned that she (my sis) lost her patience with mum and raised her voice at her. sighs. in the end, mum also stopped talking to my sis. and then, she went to bed at 7.45pm and claimed that she had taken her medication (which i doubted). and she insisted on not taking the dinner when i offered it to her. while trying to sleep, she started coughing and i got her the cough syrup. again, she vehemently rejected it and kept saying that she is better off dead. i let her be and went to bed. she too eventually fell asleep close to midnight. this morning, she continued to refuse to talk to me. i asked why and what have i done wrong that made her so angry. again, she refused to answer, choosing to look away and not look at me.

well, there is nothing much i can do except to continue to engage her. i supposed all old people behave this way when they are old? no different from little babies throwing tantrums...

second childhood?

post-comment: she started talking me again when i brought her out for dinner... things seemed a little less tense for now.
