401!!!

the psi hit 401 level at noon today! it was a record high for singapore!

and from the photo/ map published, it seemed like singapore is right in the center of the thickest part of the haze the moment we hit 401. then again, since 401 is the 3-hour running average, and the 2 readings at 10am and 11am was below 400, it only meant that the reading was actually closer to, or perhaps, even above 500. and interestingly, despite the air of anticipation, gloom and doom, i did notice that there were also lots of jokes being made about the situation (such as below's attempt on the acronym "psi").

i supposed this is one of the things many of us do to manage stress. cos since we cannot control it, might as well make the best out of it. right? haha... and as for me, apart from all the jokes i cracked about the haze, i actually thought it was quite exciting that the psi hit pass the 400-mark. there was actually an air of excitement and anticipation for me. and also, as i looked out of the window as i travelled on the coach to the airport for lunch, the blur scene i saw and the cold air i felt from the blasting of the coach air con actually made me feel like i was on a tour in some cold temperate country. very nice... heh heh...
