decided to remove the stitches myself last night. didn't come across as a difficult task and certainly wanted to avoid the hassle of heading to the clinic this evening just to get it removed. the wound was healing well and the swell had subsided significantly. and visually, there were no signs of any infection. and my hands were also itchy and i was rather impatient about getting it off. so...
i did what i needed to do. took a shower, cleaned the area around the wound and then used a pair of scissors to cut off one side of the thread and then pull it off from the other side. was painless but i must say my failing eyesight made it very difficult to me to see where i was cutting. but i got by, slowly and gingerly. and after that, apply some anti-bacteria cream to seal the "hole" and to prevent any possibility of infection. easy peesy.
:-)
Hmmm...brilliant!
