in leadership positions, effectiveness lie in balancing between task- and people-orientation. flexibility to switch style depending on who you interact with, the organization state of development, etc. and the morale of people is of utmost importance. no leaders has all the answers and at the top, if a new leader assume he has all the answers, come into the organization and treats the very senior experienced team members like kids, he may have won the battle but he has just started a long nightmare... and his credibility will be at stake.
reflection: habit 5 of effective people: seek to understand first, before being understood. start of effective interdependence between you and your team members.
