i met up with my banking agent recently and he gave me a run down of my investments. i must admit i am not a person who loves money to the point of actively monitoring my investments. money is to allow me to sustain and i do not have the habit to constantly monitor and manage my monies. so...
anyway, through one of my attempts to invest last year, i got to know this banker. apart from helping me, he also took a look at my port folio and he almost fell off the chair. i had been losing a significant amount of my investments over the years! and with that he asked if i could allow him to review and make some recommendations. i agreed and eventually allowed him to manage my portfolio for me. i must say that was one of the better decisions i have made regarding my money management.
it's been a year and today, he has managed to get rid of all non-performing products, purchased (with my consent) products that are profitable, and almost reduced my loss to no more than a couple of thousands. couple with that, i have purchased some mid-term insurance that would help me when i retire. i had also been able to slowly reduced my housing loans since then. so nett-nett, i must say my financial position is a lot better compared to say 2 years ago, despite the fact that my cash available did not seemed to have grown (or for that matter decreased). so...
i really need to learn to manage my monies.
