brought my mum out for breakfast earlier.
i was pushing mum's wheelchair out of the hawker center when i saw a boy and his mother. he was about about 6 yrs of age, and he was eating vegetarian mee. as we walked pass, he used his chopstick to pick up some of the noodles and he offered it to his mother. his mother looked a little surprised but ate it nonetheless. and she took the noodle into her mouth, the little boy said...
"happy mother's day!"
i was not sure about his mother, but i was really over the top, felt my throat choking that very moment. in my heart, i congratulated the mother for having brought the son up so well.
that was so so bloody sweet, right?
Hi peace, my mothers' day started out well with my 14-y-o son offering to wake up early to make my husband and I breakfast :)
ReplyDeleteHowever, it ended terribly when my husband blew his top over something which I considered trivial and it kind of affected everybody in the family :(
My 19-y-o son has a boyfriend now. I'm happy and worried for him at the same time. Today his lesbian classmate returned to school after recovering from a suicide attempt bcos of failed relationship. My son said she went thru hypnosis to erase all unpleasant memories including the names of people associated with them. As a result, she has forgotten the name of a close and an old friend since secondary school days who is also her present classmate.
hey ladybird, great to have you here again. have often wondered how things have been with you. so sweet of you younger boy. makes you eat with joy in the heart right? hehe...
ReplyDeleteforget about the negative, look at the positive and rejoice from it.
and yes, it is nice to know he is attached. but i do caution you here not to expect too much out of any couplehood especially when he is young and still learning about life. it is the same for gay men as it is the same for straight people. what is important is to let him discover life and be there to support him when the time calls for it.
:-)
happy mother's day too!
