mum has been put on a strict porridge diet since yesterday. well, to be specific, she has been put on a soft food diet. strictly no solid food. this is to minimize the risk of having food pieces from entering her windpipe as well as to prevent her from choking again.
and with this new diet, she has been complaining of hunger. i think she has not gotten used to this diet yet. yesterday, when i visited her, the nurse was feeding her porridge. and the nurse also told me that mum had kept asking for me since early morning. today, mum had again asked for food in the morning. and at about 3 plus in the afternoon, i got a call from mum asking me to help buy food for her. it was lucky that the domestic helper was with her and was able to help me get milo for her. this helped her tide over the hunger pang until dinner.
to the next few days, i think i'll go get some packet beverages as well as cook additional food such as green bean soup etc for her. hopefully, this will help tide her over from one meal to the next.
