watched secret sunshine on saturday with lay pheng and bee. was an utterly depressing show. you might find it rather controversial too if you are an ultra-right winged christian. to me, it reflected the realities and pains of life and how one woman tried to manage it. watching the show, one could easily appreciate the experiences that shin-ae (the female lead) went through and how all the emotions got pent up, the frustrations, the anger... and how it finally exploded and took it's toll on her. for me, i could feel the pain and at some moments, felt utterly depressed too. personally, having gone through the ups and downs in recent years, the show did struck a rather sore cord. although the context was different, it was the very sense of lost, of lack of control, of betrayal and hopelessness that gripped me.a very human experience.
