i think i am depressed. i have been entertaining thoughts of suicide over the last couple of weeks. been feeling so overwhelmed by many things, top of the list being work. and things are just piling. i am increasingly finding myself avoiding making decisions, and acting on what i need to do. i recalled people in here (e.g sam, river, dazzah) telling me that acknowledging my depression is a good start, or for that matter, the fact that i recognise i am depressed meant i am not (or something along this line). they also said that the next thing is to be proactive and take steps to address it, go out, socialise, make friends, la la la... but frankly in my current state of mind, all these are theories. i have totally no motivation to do so. in fact, i am totally unmotivated to do anything, not even simple things like doing the claims for my biz travels.
ok, i don't know how to go on with this post...
oh dear, hope you are not too bad
ReplyDeleteyou should see a doctor, seek help.
it is important not to let it get out of hand

Hi Jeffrey,
ReplyDeleteYou know, the world would be a poorer place without you in it.
Grab your trunks and go to the pool. You never know if an exotic bird might catch your eye. Some even know how to talk. Of course, that's optional ;-)
Take care of you, Edwin
U may be depressed but thankfully you probably are not in depression. Unlikely for a person in depression to be having fun in Grindr.
ReplyDeleteIt's a good thing though to recognise the depress feeling early and find ways to prevent yourself from lapsing into depression (in which case you'll most probably withdraw instead of reaching out for help).
I do not know (and therefore cannot advise on) how you can avoid further depressed feelings. We all feel depressed from time to time due to various reasons. For you, the magnitude is even greater and it must have been very painful to bear. If only there is someone close whom you can pour out to. Some one who will not judge you and allow U to feel what you feel and be who you are.
Hugs bro (I mean a real hug)
Sam
Aiyoh,
ReplyDeletetell me something new. It has been so obvious but now you are finally penning it down. Well the first step ...as you said... to acknowledgement.
Whatever you do, don't beat me at it, Ok? If there's anything worse than feeling lousy is to have someone beat you at it. I want to better in something than you....really! Haha
There's a million things I admire about you & wish I could be as good as you. so don't you ever ever die before me! Where would be my role model? Whose blog should I read?
And if I may dissect your post: Overwhelmed by work & many other issues you have taken upon yourself. Not necessarily depression. Will worsen the depression but not part of it.
Solution: Take time to relax. As Edwin above pointed out, go to the pool -with or without trunks!
Hi, been through depression for the pass 2 years, it's not easy, and good that you had make the first step in acknowledge it.
ReplyDeleteInteract more with people, and open up more, it helps.
You are a nice guy with good heart, hope you will be getting over this difficult period of your life real soon.
Take care, will pray for you for good health.
