agitated mind

i tried meditating this week when i was at the pool. i couldn't do it. my mind was terribly agitated. mental images of mum, both alive as well as her dead body kept appearing whenever i closed my eyes. think i will need some more time to calm myself down...

Your parents are in a better place now, so don't you worry about them.

Instead, give yourself time to heal and for your emotions to settle and stabilise.

I'll bet they wouldn't want to see you hurt so much, so surrender them to the heavens and focus on your own wellness instead.

Here's some beautiful prose written more than a century ago which will hopefully uplift you and offer some healing comfort.

<< Death is nothing at all >>

Death is nothing at all,
I have only slipped away into the next room.
Whatever we were to each other, we still are.
Call me by my old familiar name.
Speak of me in the same easy way you always did.
Laugh, as we always laughed, at the little jokes we shared together.
Think of me and smile.
Life is the same as it ever was.
All is well.

Henry Scott Holland (1847 - 1918)
