i was in the middle of class when a very short sms came in from kwang "we won the bid to host the 2010 yog!" it read. i couldn't contain the excitement and stopped my lecturer in the middle of her sentence and announced it to the class... even my lecturer was very excited by it :-)
it was a real wonder to see how such events bring people together - both from singapore and from the region too. to me, the win reflects not just singapore's success but rather, asean's success as a whole for it will be the first time that an olympic game will be held in south east asia... and looking at the channelnewsasia website and the responses from readers, i do certainly see people from around the region such as malaysia, the philippines and indonesia posting to indicate their excitement and to extend their good wishes to singapore.
so exciting! let's make it happen and let's make it good!
